Francis Lane Studio is a residence on Bruny Island, Tasmania, built during the writing of Discontinued Narratives of Migration.
It was designed by architect Drew Heath, a light box based on the scale of a shipping container. Movement and mobilities were implicit in the design while it responded to the bush location immersed in the site at Adventure Bay.
It is sometimes used as a residency for visiting international artists. Elizabeth Day is based mainly in Sydney, but she had to find a way to be in Tasmania and also out of it.
